Frequently Asked Questions About Treatment

  • Depending on your condition, the length of treatment varies by case. Fortunately, in a relatively short time patients are able to discern if the treatments are effective . At that point there should be greater improvement noted that lasts for longer periods of time. Since our patients schedule their treatments on an as-needed basis, they are able to increase the amount of time between visits. Because each patient's health problems and response to treatment are unique, the number and frequency of treatments vary. In general, acute conditions require fewer treatment than chronic conditions. Some cases only require visits for a few times.

  • We will often recommend adjunctive therapies to enhance your care that include therapeutic massage or acupressure with one of our experienced therapists, participation in group events that range from acupressure training to Tai-Chi Chuan exercise, nutritional support or supplements with Chinese herbal formulas. Nutritional, herbal and other therapies are also often recommended as a way of enhancing the treatment.

  • This varies with the individual. Initially the results are short-lived and subtle. Subsequent treatments should provide longer-lasting and greater degrees of improvement. The response will accelerate as the treatments progress. Many patients experience results in the first treatment. Some patients experience immediate full or partial pain relief, which may last indefinitely or for only a couple of hours. In a few cases, there may be no immediate relief but pain may diminish over the next couple of days. Generally, our patients will feel better and with more treatments, they see a consistent decrease in pain.

  • We do not guarantee results, but we do however, guarantee that we will try our best to help you. We also will treat you the way we would like to be treated ourselves. We will always tell you if we don't think we can help you. for some problems we do guarantee that we will tel you after we did check up your condition such as acne, face paralysis, auto injuries, working injuries, some pain problems and much more.

  • Chiropractic visits are $70 for the first visit, and $60 for all follow-up visits. Dr. Dion Zhu accepts cash, check, and all major insurance companies in addition to Medicare and Worker's Compensation.

  • Fees vary with the service type and how much time is required. However, individuals that are either low-income, students, or seniors, are eligible for discounted fees.

We do not have hidden fees and gladly accept Cash, Check, Visa, and MasterCard.

About Chinese Medicinal Herbs

Chinese medicinal herbs has been a key aspect in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over 5,000 years. According to the World Health Organization, "In some Asian and African countries, 80% of the population depend on traditional medicine for primary health care. In many developed countries, 70% to 80% of the population has used some form of alternative or complementary medicine (e.g. acupuncture)" (W.H.O. Factsheet, 2008).

Frequently Asked Questions About Chinese Medicinal Herbs

  • Perhaps the biggest difference between Chinese and Western Medicine is that Chinese Medicine relies on experience over time through numerous trials and clinical observations and Western Medicine is based on standards and evidence. Many western consumers who are seeking natural, healthy and balanced alternatives to Western Medicine, find Chinese Medicine.

  • Ingredients of Chinese Medicine are primarily of plant origin (such as roots, bark, seeds, flowers, and leaves), and in their natural form. Ingredients that are not of plant origin Amasia Clinic does not usually use and in the rare circumstance that there are non-plant ingredients, we make sure to inform our patients.

  • No, Chinese herbs should be viewed only as a supplement to western medicine, and not as a replacement, in many circumstances. However, cooperation between practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine and the use of Western diagnostic tools in TCM are increasing. Many Traditional Chinese medical schools require training in Western medicine as well as TCM, training Chinese Medicinal doctors that have a good understanding of Western Medicine as well as their specialized field.
